I agree that a strong military is an essential part of a country looking to stay a world power, but self defense, and defense of our allies, is far different than the interventionist policy we have in the Middle East today. If we had invaded Iran first and ONLY after the attack by Al Queda, that would have been one thing–as they are economically fueling terrorists. But, so do we. We should have cut all funding to jihadist nations like Egypt, Syria, Lybia… and should have invaded Iran and perhaps Afghanistan ONLY, and come home having crippled the terrorists both physically and sapping their two biggest incomes: Iran and ourselves.
